I do want to eventually get to the bottom of the issue with the usb-c to DP connection. Flickering issue completely gone! No issues with turning monitor on and off or restarting my mac or going into sleep mode. The good news is that I went out and picked up a usb-c to 4K HDMI cable today and it has worked perfectly. The issue appears to be either a) incompatibility of usb-c to DisplayPort cable (not an issue with the cable specifically since I tried two different usb-c to DisplayPort cables and had the same issue) or b) a defective DisplayPort on my Dell monitor. UPDATE #2: Was on with Apple tech support today and ran a few diagnostics to confirm this is not OS related and not a problem with the Mac Mini. UPDATE: Since updating my ' Energy Saver' settings in System Preferences to ' Turn display off: Never', checked the box to ' Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off' and unchecked the box for ' Wake for network access', I haven't experienced any issues so long as I don't reboot or attempt to put my mac in sleep mode. Any input or suggestions would be much appreciated! I want to be able to connect to DP using one of my thunderbolt ports so that I can connect to a second monitor using HDMI. When not experiencing the issue, the monitor is perfect. Is this true? I really want this issue to go away. I contacted Dell technical support and they essentially told me that the only Dell monitors that they recommend for Mac users are ultra-sharps. The issue almost always occurs when I put my mac to sleep which immediately turns the monitor back on but with the flickering. The issue does not occur when connecting directly using an HDMI cable. I have purchased various cables including the Moshi VESA certified cable that they sell directly on Apple's website and still experiencing the same issue.

Every now and then, the screen will start flickering and going black every two seconds repeatedly until I power off the monitor or reconnect the cables.

Has anyone experienced any issues connecting their Mac to a Dell S2721QS monitor? I am using a new M1 chip Mac Mini and connecting to the monitor using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.
